Description

Double Orbit presents an enigmatic world of ambiguous signs and secret passages. Grégoire Pujade-Lauraine's photographs explore the built environments that shape human life, revealing cryptic symbols etched across their surfaces and embedded in their shadows. The looming forms in his images defy easy categorisation, with disconcerting cyphers periodically emerging from a lingering dusk. Oversized keys, black concrete moons, or the illusion of limitless temples are among the mysterious elements that Pujade-Lauraine captures. His photographs depict mundane urban details, yet when combined, they become open-ended allegories, their meaning awakened solely in combination. This book invites you to consider the oblique mysteries held on the surface of familiar surroundings.
