Description
Lina Maria Ferreira Cabeza-Vanegas explores the complexities of home and identity in this collection of linked essays, translations, and reinterpreted myths. She intermixes personal reflections with adaptations of Colombian myths and translations of Spanish adages to examine what it means to feel a sense of belonging. Ferreira Cabeza-Vanegas grapples with the idea of home as a fluid concept that encompasses place, time, people, language, and history. Her work is characterized by its experimentation with form and its attempt to reconcile cultural differences. The result is a deeply personal and introspective exploration of identity, one that constantly asks: what would you do if you could return to your roots? Through her writing, Ferreira Cabeza-Vanegas navigates the tensions between two worlds, two cultures, and two identities. This collection is a thought-provoking exploration of the human experience, one that challenges readers to consider their own sense of belonging.
