Description

Rhona Loveday is a hard-headed Geordie with a strong sense of determination. When she hears that the Savoy Cinema, once a thriving hub for entertainment, stands abandoned due to lack of funds, she sees an opportunity to bring new life to her community. With the help of Matt Brocklehurst and his unlikely apprentice Bev, Rhona sets out to persuade the Akengarth Amateurs to turn the cinema into a theatre. Despite facing economic adversity and industrial strife in 1973-74, their determination and vision keep the project on track. Can they overcome the challenges ahead and bring their dream to fruition?
