Description
Conan and Ran accompany Kogoro to an art exhibition with a known painter. The artist has called in the detective because Kaito Kid, the thief, has threatened to steal his latest painting, which he hasn't yet shown to the public. Despite the presence of the detective, the painting disappears without a trace, and the artist's father-in-law is murdered. However, Conan notices that this isn't how Kaito Kid usually operates, and eventually discovers that everything was a setup by the artist, who had ended up killing his father-in-law because he forced him to paint that particular picture against his will.
This manga is part of Detective Conan series by renowned author Gosho Aoyama. First published in 1994, it has since become one of Japan's most popular and enduring franchises, with numerous adaptations into anime, live-action films, and other formats.
