Description

Description

Marjan Teeuwen creates large-scale architectural installations in buildings that are subsequently demolished following her interventions. She disrupts the materials of construction and structure, building new artistic images from the resulting debris. Teeuwen's work combines constructive forces with destruction and decay, often incorporating socio-political context into her method. This book presents several installations from her 'Destroyed House' series, including the recent project 'Destroyed House Gaza'. By working in occupied territory, Teeuwen allows the local environment to inform her artistic vision. The resulting sculptures are both visually striking and thought-provoking, inviting viewers to consider the relationship between art, architecture, and the built environment.
