Description

Destiny dreams big. Born below the breadline, she's desperate to see beyond her neighbourhood and find hope in hopelessness. This monologue follows the story of a teenage girl growing up on a rural council estate, where one night out takes a turn for the worst and her life spirals out of control. As she desperately tries to learn how to love and be loved, Florence Espeut-Nickless' debut play explores themes of identity, resilience and the struggle to find one's place in the world. First performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022, this edition was published to coincide with its run. With a powerful voice and unflinching honesty, Destiny's story will resonate with anyone who has ever felt like they don't quite fit in.
