Description

A beautifully crafted novella based on real letters from Angelina Beloff to her husband Diego Rivera. Elena Poniatowska's Querido Diego, te abraza Quiela brings to life the Parisian world of post-war art and politics through twelve imagined letters written by Quiela to Diego over a nine-month period. In this poignant work, we see the artist's world through the eyes of his wife, who struggles to move forward without him while holding onto fond memories of their time together. The novella offers a powerful portrait of life and art in early 20th-century Paris, with its focus on strong women, the real, and the marginal. Poniatowska's masterful blend of fact and fiction creates a captivating narrative that explores the complexities of love, loss, and identity.
