Description

A humorous and inventive novel about life in academia. Jason Fitger, a beleaguered professor, finds himself struggling with his writing career and romantic life, while facing draconian cuts to his department. In this epistolary novel, he responds to endless requests for letters of recommendation from students and colleagues, each one a small masterpiece of high dudgeon and passive-aggressive strategies. Through Fitger's hilarious and inventive responses, Schumacher pokes fun at the quirks of academic life, while also exploring themes of identity, creativity, and the human condition. With its witty tone and clever plot devices, Dear Committee Members is a compelling read for anyone who has ever worked in higher education or simply loves a good story about the absurdities of everyday life. If you're looking for a lighthearted and engaging novel that explores the complexities of modern life, this might be the book for you.
