Description
Dead Extra by Sean Carswell is a gripping noir mystery set in midcentury Southern California. The story follows two parallel timelines: one leading up to the murder of Wilma Chesley in 1944, and another that unfolds six years later as her sister-in-law Gertie sets out to uncover the truth behind her death. As they delve into the dark underbelly of Los Angeles, they navigate a complex web of characters and locations, from seedy motor courts to upscale mansions. Through its exploration of the city's seedy side, Dead Extra draws inspiration from the works of early noir masters like James M. Cain and Raymond Chandler, as well as contemporary neo-noir writers.
