Description
Thomas Hobbes' "De cive elementos filosóficos sobre el ciudadano" is a foundational work in political philosophy. First published in 1642, this treatise forms part of a broader project by the author to systematize human knowledge. In it, Hobbes explores the nature of humanity and how individuals can come together to form a well-founded state. The book presents an early version of Hobbes' theory of government, which would later be developed in his famous work "Leviatán". This translation, by Carlos Mellizo, provides a clear and concise introduction to Hobbes' ideas on the rights and duties of citizens and the role of the state.
