Description
Ato has returned to his grandmother's house for the first time in years. He's been given a strange drink by her and is sitting on the old couch on her porch, wondering if the rumors about her being a witch are true. A mysterious hole has appeared in her yard that seems to be connected to an environmental issue affecting their community garden project. At school, Ato and his friends are competing to win entry to Nnoma, the island bird sanctuary created by Ato's father. However, something is poisoning the garden, and Ato sets out to find the culprit. His investigation brings him closer to his estranged mother and grandmother, leading to a healing of old wounds within their family. As Ato uncovers the truth behind the hole in the yard, he discovers that it holds a surprising significance. This story of healing and love is a deeply felt exploration of the power of community and the importance of confronting the past.
