Description

Cricket on Three Continents by Henry Blofeld explores two main themes: the decline and rise of the West Indian cricket team, and the connection between a country's topography and style with its unique brand of cricket. This insightful analysis weaves together great moments from the sport, humour, and style of both Australian and West Indian teams. The book delves into the changing landscape of West Indies cricket, featuring players like Lance Gibbs, Basil Butcher, Deryck Murray, and Clive Lloyd. Blofeld also examines how a country's characteristics shape its approach to the game, offering thoughtful commentary on the sport. Through his observations, Blofeld provides a nuanced understanding of the sport, highlighting the humour and style that define both Australian and West Indian cricket.
