Description

Creation Myths Revised Edition by Marie-Louise von Franz explores the common motifs found in creation myths from cultures around the world. These recurring patterns are believed to reveal insights into human creativity, the cycles of renewal, and the birth of consciousness. The book delves into the symbolism behind creation motifs such as the egg, seed, primordial being, creative fire, separation of heaven and earth, and the four stages of creation. It also examines how these themes appear in medieval alchemical tradition and in the dreams of individuals on the verge of a significant leap forward in consciousness. By analyzing these motifs, von Franz sheds light on the mysteries of creativity and the human experience, offering a unique perspective on the collective unconscious and its role in shaping our understanding of existence.
