Description
Courttia Newland's Cosmogramma is a thought-provoking collection of speculative fiction shorts that reimagine the future through the lens of the African diaspora. In this unnerving and sharply crafted world, robots are driven by human desires, mer creatures rely on inter-breeding with mortals for survival, and mysterious seeds appear in cities, growing into human-like forms. Through transfigured bodies and impossible encounters, Newland explores age-old themes of greed, ambition, and self-destruction, ultimately revealing the strength and resilience that defines humanity. This fresh and unsettling vision is a worthwhile read for fans of science fiction and speculative fiction. With its unique blend of speculative elements and thought-provoking commentary on human nature, Cosmogramma is a compelling read for anyone interested in exploring the possibilities of the future.
