Description

Clear White Light by Paul Sirett is a contemporary retelling of Edgar Allan Poe's story, set against the backdrop of the UK's 70-year-old NHS. A young nurse, Alison, begins her first night shift at St Nicholas's Hospital, feeling nervous and unsure of herself. As she navigates the challenges of her new role, she finds guidance from Rod, a senior staff nurse who seems to know what to do. This powerful play is inspired by real-life experiences and features many of the hit songs written during that time, including Winter Song, Lady Eleanor, and Clear White Light, performed live by a band. Written by Olivier Award-nominated writer Paul Sirett, this book brings a new generation the incredible music and story that has captivated audiences for years.
