Description

Frank Zamboni's Ice Machine Great Idea Series by Monica Kulling is a fascinating story about innovation and perseverance. In 1940, Frank Zamboni was determined to find a way to resurface his ice rink more quickly, as the current process took over an hour for five men. Working in his shed, Frank designed and built models of machines that could clean the ice in just one sweep around the rink. After nine years of trial and error, he finally tested his Model A, which proved to be a game-changer. The rest is history, as this book tells the inspiring story of how Frank's idea revolutionized the world of ice skating. This book is a great introduction to the life and achievements of Frank Zamboni, who made a lasting impact on the sport he loved.
