The Class 66 locomotives have become an iconic part of the UK's rail network. In the late 1990s, English, Welsh and Scottish Railway (EWS) introduced the first Class 66s, which were later distinguished by their operator. The Class 66/3/4/7/8 sub-variants followed soon after. These locomotives have had varied ownership over the years, with some being used by Direct Rail Services (DRS), GB Railfreight (GBRf), Freightliner and Colas Railfreight. Despite being moved around several operators, they have proven reliable, with few failures or mechanical issues. The book features over 200 images of these locomotives in their different liveries.
