Description
Circesque by Christian Tagliavini is a photographic series that explores the world of the circus. Produced in 2019, this book celebrates an idea conceived by the author in 2008. Through exquisite costumes and unexpected props, it invites readers to form their own stories about the people behind the greasepaint and powder. This unique collection strips away clichés to reveal the human behind the archetype. The images capture the innermost feelings of those who mount the platform, put themselves on the line, and take risks under the watchful eye of their audience. From acrobats to tattooed ladies, high-wire performers to escape artists, each portrait offers a glimpse into the lives of circus folk. A closer look at Circesque reveals unusual details that add depth to its narrative.
