Description
In November 1955, Nasser Ali Khan's beloved tar was broken. He searched for a new one, but none sounded right. Desperate and heartbroken, he renounced life and spent the next eight days preparing to surrender his soul. As those who loved him gathered round, memories flooded back, revisiting his entire life. He remembered his late mother, who had sacrificed everything for his revolutionary brother, but also found solace in music; his angry wife, who couldn't forgive his melancholy; and Irane, his first love, whose father forbade her to marry a poor musician. The pieces of Nasser Ali Khan's story slowly fell into place. By the time the eighth day dawned, he had communed with Sufi mystics, Sophia Loren, and even Azrael, the angel of death. This poignant tale offers a glimpse into the life of one who struggled to find meaning in his music and relationships.
