Description
Carmine "The Snake" Persico was the undisputed King of the Streets in the golden age of American organized crime. As the defacto boss of the Colombo Mafia family since the 1970s, he oversaw gang wars, murders, and major rackets with ruthless efficiency. From behind bars, where he served a lengthy sentence of 139 years, Persico continued to exert control over his vast criminal empire. His brutal rise and bloody reign are the stuff of Mafia legend, marked by suspected killings of up to 60 people and hundreds more ordered hits. This book is a chilling inside story of Carmine "The Snake" Persico's life, from his crime-filled childhood to his long-term imprisonment, where he maintained power with the help of his brother Alphonse "Allie Boy" Persico.
