Description

Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D major is one of the most beloved and enduring pieces of classical music. First published in 1918, its popularity grew slowly until a recording by French conductor Jean-François Paillard in the 1970s brought it to wider attention. The present edition of the Canon and Gigue in D major features an urtext score with only dynamics added, as a possible suggested interpretation. This approach helps to provide a clear and authentic representation of Pachelbel's original composition, despite the challenges posed by the loss of his manuscript. This study score is ideal for musicians looking to perform or arrange this iconic piece.
