Description

Candy, Andy & the Bearandas is a unique photobook featuring the surreal images created for a 1960s comic book project. Originally devised by Century 21 Productions, these photo-strips presented an unusual look at domesticity and childhood, but never reached the popularity of other Anderson characters. The photobook presents the best of the surviving original transparencies, showcasing the Bearandas family in various everyday situations, such as driving their striped Mini or preparing for Bonfire Night. The carefully restored images are lovingly presented in a faux leather-bound hardback with foil-blocking and a tipped-in cover image. This book also features a foreword by Gerry Anderson's son, Jamie Anderson, and an introduction detailing the history of the Candy project by historian and broadcaster Alan Dein.
