Description
Cuba's Hidden Heart: A Photographic Portrait of Campesino Communities. Photographer Richard Sharum embarked on a journey to document the lives of isolated farmers, or 'Campesinos, ' and their communities at a time of national transition in Cuba. His resulting black and white photographs offer a unique perspective on the intertwined relationship between people and the land they depend on. Through his lens, Sharum sheds light on the histories of these communities, which have formed the backbone of Cuba's identity yet remain rarely depicted in photographic representations of the country. This poignant collection of images provides a glimpse into the lives of those who are often overlooked, revealing the beauty and resilience of rural Cuba.
