Description
Buddy Holly Sessions 5 Late by Trevor K. Jacob In November 1958, Buddy Holly and the Crickets embarked on a whirlwind tour of England, performing at iconic venues such as the London Palladium and Whisky-A-Go-Go in Soho. This fifth installment in the series chronicles their time on this tour, as well as their appearances in Alan Freed's 'The Big Beat' in the US. During this period, Buddy Holly formed a romantic connection with Maria Elena Santiago, a New York music-business receptionist, and joined forces with local country star Waylon Jennings. The Crickets continued to enjoy increasing success, with performances on American Bandstand and as part of General Artists' 'Summer Dance Party' tour across the upper Midwest. As Buddy Holly's career soared, he found himself at the forefront of a musical movement that would shape the sound of rock 'n' roll for years to come. This book offers a unique insight into the life and times of one of music's most influential figures.
