Other operators, such as Tillings' Eastern National and United Counties, played important roles in the county's bus network. Private companies also ran works buses and seaside outings. Today, the bus industry in Buckinghamshire faces significant challenges, with many operators struggling to survive due to reduced subsidy. However, some have found new sources of revenue, such as working with schools. Arriva remains the dominant operator in the county, but the age of coach excursions has become much reduced as car travel expands.
