The Brahmanda Purana is one of the eighteen classic Hindu texts known as the Puranas. It tells the stories and legends associated with Brahma, the creator and one of the trinities of the supreme divinity.

Composed around 400 to 600 BCE, this relatively early Purana predates many other Hindu texts. The two-volume set includes Volume 1, which recounts creation, cosmology, geography, lineages of rishis, and shraddha rites, ending with the story of Parashurama.
