Description

In 1991, life in West Belfast is marked by turmoil and uncertainty. For Marie, Cassie, and Nora, their husbands' fates have left them to navigate the challenges of everyday life amidst the backdrop of violence and unrest. A mysterious young woman's arrival at Marie's doorstep sets off a chain of events that will shatter the girls' friendship and force them to confront the harsh realities of their world. With its sharp humor and unflinching portrayal of women's strength in the face of adversity, Bold Girls is a powerful exploration of life under siege. First performed by 7:84 Scottish People's Theatre in 1990, this play has been revived and re-released to new audiences, cementing Rona Munro's reputation as a leading playwright.
