Description

On 1 August 2014, a devastating day in Gaza's history unfolded. A ceasefire began at 7am, but it was short-lived. Over 130 civilians were killed, mostly men and women, as the Israel-Gaza conflict escalated into a 50-day military offensive.

This photograph album is part of Kent Klich's ongoing project to document life in Gaza. The previous two albums, 'Gaza Photo Album' (2009) and 'Killing Time' (2013), have been shown internationally in museums and galleries. 'Black Friday' marks the third installment in this powerful series.

The photographs in 'Black Friday' offer a poignant glimpse into life under siege in Gaza. The book was exhibited at Malmö Konsthall, Sweden from 11 September to 27 September 2015.
