Description
Bitter Grass by Gëzim Hajdari is a collection of poems written in 1976 during the author's final year of high school. Initially rejected by the government publication house in Tirana, the work was later published for the first time in 2001 by Fara. The poems were translated from Albanian into Italian in 1999 and have since been expanded to include new texts. This new edition offers a glimpse into the author's early journey as a poet, set against the backdrop of Albania under dictatorship. Published in 2020, this collection is a unique insight into the country's turbulent past and the poet's own experiences during that time.
