Description

Benito Pérez Galdós was a pivotal figure in modern Spain. His literary output was remarkable, but he was not a detached observer of social reality; instead, he actively worked towards creating a more free and solidaristic Spain. Understanding the life and times of Galdós is essential to grasping his work and personality. Despite its importance, much of the research on Galdós has focused on his literary texts, leaving his political, reflective, and public aspects of life relatively unexplored. This biography addresses this gap by examining three key areas of Galdós' life: his involvement in politics, his personal reflections, and his public activities. By studying these facets of Galdós' life, readers can gain a deeper understanding of the complex individual behind his literary works.
