Beekeeping with ZEST

Beekeeping with ZEST: A Revolutionary Approach to Honey Bee Welfare. In this groundbreaking book, Bill Summers presents a bold new vision for beekeeping that prioritises the welfare and well-being of honey bees. Drawing on his own research and collaboration with colleague Dave Durrant, Summers reveals how traditional hive designs can be improved upon to provide a healthier environment for these vital pollinators. The ZEST hive design is a key part of this solution, featuring a unique longitudinal external envelope that provides optimal thermal regulation and ventilation. This innovative approach has been shown to eliminate varroa mites, a major threat to honey bee health, by reducing the time available for them to mature in the pupating cells. With its practical solutions and compelling arguments, Beekeeping with ZEST is set to become a seminal work in the quest to protect these precious pollinators. By exploring the science behind bee behavior and hive design, Summers offers a comprehensive guide to creating a healthier environment for honey bees. This book is an essential read for anyone passionate about bee conservation and looking to make a positive impact on their local bee populations.
