Description

Beautiful Thing by Jonathan Harvey In this iconic coming-out and coming-of-age story, two teenage boys find friendship and support in each other during a tumultuous time. Ste and Jamie, neighbours on a South London estate, form an unlikely bond that helps them navigate the challenges of bullying, family violence, and self-discovery. As they explore their feelings alongside friends Leah and Sandra, the boys come to terms with their sexuality and find a sense of belonging in each other's company. Thirty years after its initial publication, Beautiful Thing remains a powerful exploration of community, friendship, and rites of passage. This edition coincides with a revival at London's Stratford East theatre, offering a fresh opportunity to experience this timeless story that continues to resonate with readers today.
