Description
Barcode Tattoo by Roger G McDonald celebrates the global phenomenon of parkrun, a weekly running event that has captured the hearts of millions. Founded in 2004, parkrun has become a running institution with thousands of locations worldwide, open to anyone who wants to participate. The concept is simple yet deceptively powerful: a measured and timed five kilometre run, jog, or walk. The book takes its title from the barcode that serves as the key to every participant's unique experience in parkrun. Poet and writer Roger G McDonald weaves a lilting and musical narrative that explores the imagination of this global running movement. With over 6,300,000 registered members across 22 countries, parkrun has become a unifying force for athletes and couch potatoes alike. A portion of the book's sales goes directly to support parkrun, allowing it to remain free for everyone forever. Proceeds also benefit CreateCare Global, a children's charity.
