A group of nine friends embarked on an epic journey in 1969, setting out from England in a double-decker bus called 'Hairy Pillock'. Their three-year adventure took them across perilous roads through Europe to Iran and Afghanistan, before continuing to Australia and the United States and Canada. Along the way, they performed folk songs in pubs, achieved minor stardom as The Philanderers, and even held keys to New York. The group's journey was initially planned as a bet with their landlord, but it soon became an incredible expedition that would be impossible today. With meagre funds supplemented by performing their own music, they released a record in Australia and performed for the Shah and Empress of Iran. This light-hearted account follows the group on their trip across deserts and mountains, detailing their experiences as they travelled through some of the world's most challenging terrain.
