Description
A terrorist bombing at a summer carnival on the Brighton sea front causes widespread chaos and murder. Detective Inspector Sarah Machin is tasked with investigating the crime, but her initial leads take an unexpected turn when she discovers that the bomber was a teenage boy with no apparent connection to any terrorist group. As Machin delves deeper into the case, she becomes increasingly frustrated by the lack of concrete evidence and the emergence of new suspects. The investigation takes a complex turn when she focuses on Ian Bailey, a local leader of the English Patriot Party, who denies all involvement in the bombing. With more terror attacks carried out by what appear to be brainwashed boys, Machin realizes that she is locked in a desperate fight against evil killers with no qualms about taking human life. The case becomes a personal and professional challenge for Machin as she navigates the dark world of terrorism and confronts her own doubts and fears.
