Description

The Bacchanal is a novel about a traveling carnival that brings evil to the Depression-era South. A young woman with magical powers may be the key to defeating it. Abandoned and alone, Eliza Meeks finds a new home among the carnival's performers and fortune-tellers, but she soon discovers that the carnival is also home to an ancient demon. As Eliza learns to understand her own powers, she must confront the demon and save her friends, find her family, and fight for survival. The Bacchanal is set against the backdrop of a consuming dust bowl landscape, where Eliza may have found her destiny. With its unique blend of fantasy and historical elements, this novel explores themes of identity, community, and the struggle between good and evil.
