Description

The first three verses of the Hebrew Bible are perhaps the most well-known yet least understood passages. Rabbi Yosef Bitton offers a fresh reading of these initial words of Scripture, drawing on classical Jewish sources and current scientific data. In Awesome Creation, Rabbi Bitton explores the coincidences and differences between the Big Bang theory and the Biblical Creation story, as well as the unexplored consequences of Creation ex nihilo. He also examines the controversies surrounding the age of the universe and the state of our planet upon its creation. Through a precise understanding of each word of these verses, Rabbi Bitton sheds new light on the beauty and sophistication of the Biblical story of Creation.
