Description
Arvind Krishna Mehrotra Selected Poems and Translations is a unique collection of work by one of India's most celebrated contemporary poets. This book provides a comprehensive picture of Mehrotra's achievements as a poet and translator, showcasing his distinctive blend of the commonplace and the strange. Mehrotra's poetry reflects an intense engagement with American poetry, particularly the work of William Carlos Williams and the Beats. The collection includes a striking new poetic sequence, offering readers a glimpse into the poet's original voice. Until now, Mehrotra's work has rarely been available in the US and Britain, making this publication a significant event for fans of contemporary Indian poetry. With 264 pages of thought-provoking verse, this paperback edition is an essential introduction to Mehrotra's remarkable body of work.
