Description
The Argonautika is an epic poem that retells the story of Jason and his quest for the Golden Fleece. This is the only surviving work of its kind from the Hellenistic era, making it a unique window into ancient Greek mythology.
Translated by Peter Green, this expanded edition includes Green's commentary, introduction, and glossary to provide a deeper understanding of Apollonios's original text. The result is a lively and readable translation that captures the swift narrative movement of the epic.
This paperback edition offers an accessible introduction to one of the oldest surviving Greek myths, making it a valuable resource for anyone interested in classical literature or ancient history.
