Description

Arabicity reflects on four decades of contemporary Arab art, exploring aesthetic, conceptual, and socio-political concerns. This beautifully produced book features over 200 artworks by 50 Arab artists, showcasing their cultural heritage and themes such as memory, destruction, and conflict. Through video art, painting, photography, and installation, these artists challenge traditional identity boundaries, resist stereotyping, and reshape their cultural traditions. Their diverse media and subject matter reflect the pulse of the region, revealing what endures in chaos. With a focus on warmth, humour, and visual poetry, Arabicity presents a unique perspective on the contemporary Arab experience.
