Description

Another Order: Selected Works brings together a diverse selection of Judith Copithorne's writings, drawings, and hybrid publications from over fifty years of her practice. This comprehensive collection includes key texts such as early visual poetry chapbooks, stanzaic collections, prose, and essays that explore themes of gender, sexuality, desire, subjectivity, spirituality, and revolution.

Copithorne's work is characterized by its experimentation with media, including typewriters, pens, pencils, brushes, computer software, and more. This collection showcases her unique approach to text, which Lorna Brown describes as "embodied." The result is a body of work that carries Copithorne's inimitable touch and distinctive vision.

Edited and introduced by Eric Schmaltz, Another Order provides a testament to Copithorne's lifelong vision and establishes her as one of the leading avant-garde poets and artists of our time. This substantial collection is a valuable resource for writers and artists seeking inspiration from a pioneering figure in Canadian literary production.
