Description
Another Book by Les Coleman A unique blend of art and literature, this picture book presents itself as a collection of poems, twentieth-century type sampler, and quizzical spotter's guide. Its contents are primarily illustrations, inviting the reader to explore an art of reading. The book's paratexts - its own introductions and notes - are also largely textual, adding to the sense that this is not just another book, but a book about books themselves. The back cover hints at the history of publishing, where most books are re-editions or translations, and their originality is often lost. This book seems to be aware of its own status as an edition, with its data about author, publisher, and publication stripped away. Instead, it invites us to focus on the art of reading, and the stories hidden within its pages. With 112 pages of absorbing illustrations, this book is a thought-provoking exploration of the relationship between art and literature.
