Amuleto

Amuleto by Roberto Bolaño is a poignant and introspective work that explores the complexities of identity and creativity. Through the voice of Auxilio Lacouture, a poet and artist who finds herself trapped in a university bathroom during the 1968 student uprising, the novel delves into themes of isolation, memory, and the search for meaning. As Auxilio reflects on her life and art, she is joined by the spirits of other poets and thinkers, including León Felipe and Pedro Garfias. Through these encounters, Bolaño raises important questions about the nature of creativity and the role of the artist in society. This powerful and moving novel offers a unique glimpse into the inner world of its protagonist, and invites readers to reflect on their own experiences of identity, art, and the search for meaning.
