Description
Alondra, a raw and modern coming-of-age story, follows 16-year-old Alonda as she finds her place in a group of teens with aspirations of wrestling fame. With professional wrestling being her passion, Alonda is thrilled to meet like-minded individuals in her Coney Island neighborhood. As the team works together to put on a show, Alonda transforms into "Alondra -the Fearless One," shedding her old self behind. However, as she navigates her relationships with King and Lexi, Alonda must confront her conflicting feelings. Can she be as fearless outside of the ring as she is inside it? This story explores themes of friendship, romance, and self-discovery, set against the backdrop of a vibrant summer in Coney Island. A finalist for the SCBWI Golden Kite Award, this novel offers a fresh take on coming-of-age struggles and the power of embracing one's true self.
