Description
Ben's teacher, Mrs Peacock, is a bit unorthodox. She lets her students eat fruit in the playground and go out to play early if they're good - although that doesn't happen often. What's more, she tells them fantastical stories about magic conkers and carrots with legs. The toys in the classroom come to life at night, and Mrs Peacock shows them the mess the toys leave behind each morning. But when Mrs Peacock starts acting strangely, Ben and his friends wonder what's going on. They're confused by a new rule that requires them to take their swimming things in for the second time that week - they've only been to the pool two days before. Mrs Peacock seems barmy, but she's just trying to keep her noisy class quiet. In a desperate bid to improve the classroom atmosphere, Mrs Peacock comes up with an unusual plan involving a hosepipe, an open skylight, and twenty-five children - all of whom will be drenched in water.
