Description
Chalet architecture has long been a popular choice for building designs around the world. Dating back to herdsman's huts in the Alpine region, this style gained popularity as a holiday destination in the 19th century. Today, architects and designers are inspired by the interplay between nature, traditional architecture, regional building typologies, individual design, and modern formal language. This book showcases diverse and multifaceted chalet projects, from traditional constructions with robust timber façades to contemporary interpretations with clear lines and creative material choices. The artful staging of the mountain world in interior design plays a key role in these presented chalets. The selected projects demonstrate the versatility and creativity of this building style, highlighting its enduring appeal as a unique and captivating architectural choice.
