Description
Alice in Winterland by Julie Egdell is a story about life in post-Soviet Russia, exploring themes of exile, heartbreak, loneliness and longing. In this strange and subversive wonderland, the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur, and the familiar becomes distorted. A new city, a new language, and a new identity await Alice, as she navigates a world that is both familiar and alien. With its unique blend of Russian folklore and surreal landscapes, this book offers a fresh perspective on the story of Alice's adventures. Through its exploration of cultural and linguistic dislocation, Alice in Winterland reveals the complexities of identity and belonging in a rapidly changing world.
