Description
After Nature by W.G. Sebald is a deeply personal and poetic work that explores the conflict between man and nature. Written in 2003, it marks the debut of one of Germany's most acclaimed writers. The book consists of three distinct parts, each focusing on a different character from a different century, culminating in the author himself. This long prose poem introduces many of the themes that Sebald would later explore in his subsequent works. Born in 1944 and studied German language and literature, W.G. Sebald went on to become Professor of European Literature at the University of East Anglia, publishing numerous acclaimed works including The Emigrants, Austerlitz, and On the Natural History of Destruction.
