Description
Adler & Gibb tells the story of a raid - on a house, a life, a reality and a legacy. A play by Tim Crouch, it explores form and marries it to a thrilling tale of misappropriation. The work is based on the lives of conceptual artists Janet Adler and Margaret Gibb, who were known for their uncompromising voice in the art world. The play takes place against the backdrop of a house being returned to nature, as various individuals and events converge. A student delivers a presentation, while an older woman stands with a gun. Meanwhile, a young couple arrives at the house, and a movie is being made. The truth is being plundered, but the spirit of resistance remains strong. The book also includes two additional pieces by Tim Crouch: "What happens to the hope at the end of the evening" and a facsimile of the text as used in performance.
