Description

Ad Reinhardt "art is Art...and Everything Else is Everything Else" offers a comprehensive retrospective on the influential abstractionist and theorist Ad Reinhardt. Spanning his career from early drawings to later works characterized by a progressive reduction of color and form, this catalog showcases approximately 50 paintings and works on paper. Reinhardt's artistic pursuits extend beyond painting, featuring slides, writings on art, illustrations in newspapers, books, magazines, and pamphlets, as well as comics satirizing the art world and politics. This unique perspective provides a nuanced understanding of Reinhardt's contributions to Abstract Expressionism and subsequent contemporary art styles. Published by Fundación Juan March, this catalog is organized with institutional support from the Ad Reinhardt Foundation, making it an essential resource for those interested in modern and contemporary art.
